This is a persimmon tannin bag made from traditional Japanese rice and persimmon-related waste materials and reused old documents.
Used rice bags were turned inside out, and persimmon tannin, made from thinned persimmons, was applied to upcycle the material. Multiple coats of persimmon tannin were applied to both the front and back of the bag. Additionally, old documents were affixed to both surfaces, creating a one-of-a-kind bag in the style of ikkannbari (a traditional Japanese craft of patchwork and repair).
Furthermore, the drawstring pouch included with the bag was made from an old kimono, ensuring a harmonious and complementary design. We hope you enjoy using them together.
We primarily craft 'Harai Hōki,' a traditional broom made from sacred hemp passed down through generations, used to cleanse negative energies from the body. As a tool to purify impurities and bring harmony to oneself, we offer a gentle talisman that quietly supports and accompanies you."
I create one-of-a-kind mixed media artworks by applying copper plating to natural materials such as plants, gemstones, insects, and paper, and by blending wire art with various techniques. My goal is to deliver surprises, inspiration, and amazement to viewers, producing unique art pieces that emphasize both the enjoyment and originality of art.
At Hibiki, we create a gentle, colorful world full of transparency, themed around Enishi (縁), Irodori (彩), and Aura (光).
We weave together the harmony with nature, which busy modern people tend to overlook, the timeless beauty of Japan, and the potential within each individual.
Please feel the space where you can bask in the energy of happiness emitted by fucco bird and experience the feeling of "It's okay just as it is."
Under the theme of "Liberation of Individuality," I am painting flowers with sumi ink. Driven by the desire to create works that naturally circulate and flow, I grind the ink using spring water from the Yatsugatake foothills and express my feelings with care on Japanese paper.
I cherish the beauty of bleeding effects, varying shades of ink, and the empty space, while facing the forms and expressions that can only be born in that particular moment.
I aim to create works that liken flowers to moments in human life, reflecting emotions and the fluctuations of life and vitality.
